Sounds like you created a new iTunes library. To get his music back, press shift again while you open iTunes and select his library instead of your own.

You made a new (empty) iTunes library.

To change back to the original one, go to iTunes' preferences and the Advanced section, and use the "Change..." button to choose the original one - it should be at (Hard Disc Name) > Users > (User's Home folder name) > Music > iTunes > iTunes Music.

You can use his library with your iPod (and his one too) - make your own playlists and ensure that your iPod syncs with your ones, and his ipod with his ones.

First, follow the path I mentioned above and find his iTunes Music folder - confirm that it is full of other folders with the names of artists on them, and that the iTunes Music folder is big (loads of MB or GB), not just a few KB or MB.

If you can't find it, search the Hard Drive for an artist that you know is in his library, to find the right path.

I presume that you're not signing on to the Mac under a different login?

No sweat, however I'm not sure what the default path for the iTunes library is in Windows, but you need to find the original library folders and then use the Preferences (Options in Windows?) to point iTunes at it again.
