    Hello ,

I am after 3 separate meats, Mutton, Rabbit and Veal, can anyone suggest a butcher that sells any of these meats.

    Cheers

I recommend the Butcher Flavin in Castletroy, on the forecourt of the Texaco at the Kilmurry roundabout in Castletroy.

Also, I have seen many signs for the butcher in the Roxborough shopping centre selling all types of meat.

One day he had a full sheep for €85. Now Im sure(I hope) he did not bring a sheep out on a wheelbarrow, rather all the components of a carved up sheep but hey if people can eat packet and tripe......................

Remember a butcher can get you any type of meat. You just need to tell them a day or two in advance.

Seamus Butler on the top of William street after using most butchers in town found him to be the best combination of quality and price

I was in Tours in France last October and in the butchers they had full rabbits for sale with blood coming out of their eyes. It was fairly gross. The poor lickle bunny wabbits!

Was a great fan of O connells for years till I got a few really bad racks of ribs and moved to Seamus's.

Also found their chicken to hold a lot of water if you stir fry it

Bet you won't get many to get your rabbit or veal?

Is Pat O'Connor still butchering ? as a former supplier to him I can vouch he was a gentleman to deal with & he only bought the best, beef & mutton that is.

Garretts Butchers in Fr. Russell Road is amazing. I'm sure if you call and request a certain product he will get it in for you. He specialises in organic meat and game meat & poultry. I doubt he'd have any problem getting you the meat you need.

Did you ask over in the hunting forum if there are any Rabbits on the go. I'm sure there would be a few hunters only too happy to accomodate you.

Garretts is way overpriced, yea it looks great inside, meats with different sauces/herbs on etc and the meat is top quality. Went to buy a chicken there last week, the only ones available were costing €12 and €15-fook that.

Yeah that Fcuker would put jalapeño relish and peppercorns on your left leg and flog it for €50 if you fell asleep in his shop

Garreths is the business. high quality meat, and staff who know their stuff. It's about the only thing I miss after moving away from Limerick.

You would prefer to pay €15 compared with €6 for a chicken are you mad? Did the bird have its own chef, Sky HD and a maid or something?

Thats a terrible indictment of Limerick!

Limerick, a City established on the Shannon in Viking times - has one knowledgeable but very expensive Butcher.......
