I would like to travel from Istanbul to Kos town. Time is a luxury that I have, but big money isn't! So, if anyone here knows the area - what are my options?

    Thanks!

A quick Google search tells me that there are several buses a day, running from Istambul to Bodrum(700kms/12hrs/35-40Euro one way). Kos town is a short 1hr ferry from Bodrum(don't forget your passport).

Bus would probably be the cheapest, however a quick search on thy.com for flights from IST to Bodrum next week shows flights as cheap as 30-40 turkish lira (+about 40 lira tax and charges).

I got a combined ferry and train ticket from Istanbul to Izmir last week for 36 lira one way, a nice alternative to 10 hours+ on the bus...
