Heads up there is a recent spat of alloys stolen from cars in Naas in the last few weeks. Neighbours Chrylser 300C up on blocks this morning.

****e - mind me asking where abouts in Naas? Where they as supplied with the car or something a bit more glitizy?

A couple of years ago they were targeting Astras in my area (nothing especially fancy about the wheels) so seems they'll go for any wheels as long as they're in good nick.

Anyway a word of warning as I caught three of them taking the wheels off a car outside a packed school hall. I stopped them stealing them but I did get chased up the road with a wheel brace just missing my head.

Paddy, it was in Aylmer Park just off the Monread Rd. Apparently I've heard there is a band of Johnny Connors moved in on the Monread Rd and there has been a bit of trouble with them

Thanks - I'd noticed some signs of their arrival alright. I'm only up the road myself - there's locking nuts on both cars, but judging by some other recent posts that probably means they'd just tear the cars apart looking for the key.

I'll keep an eye out - the worst bit is that after reading this yesterday the first thing I did when I got out of bed this morning was to check neither car was up on blocks!

I'm not normally one to do this but isn't a bit racist to assume that the occurence of travellers arriving in your area and some alloys wheels being nicked, is more than just a coincidence. Have you any proof linking the two things, or is it just wild assumptions?

I don't think its being racist, it's more common logic, but lets not get into an argument about that.

I had the same issue once - a bunch of caravans and brand new SUV's parked up outside my house & stayed there for 2 months. They tied their horses to my cherry blossom, burned their rubbish in my driveway. The wheels off my car were stolen, then the seats & air freshener... The house was robbed 3 times. My youngest child was hit by an uninsured driver - we thought it was travellers & were very pissed off - got in contact with our local FF councillor & filled out the regulatory brown envelope...

In the end it turned out to be a big mistake - it was actually an investment banker & his family on a sabbatical. We invited them in for dinner one evening and had a great laugh about the whole event...

Cheers for the heads up folks. There's a house around the corner from Aylmer that has a load of scumbags in there. I think it was given to the HSE and they housed a load of scummers. One morning a friend of mine was going into his house and one of the wimmin pikeys was sitting on his doorstep after getting a kicking from her fella. They are a very dodgy lot and it wouldn't be surprised if they were to blame for this spate of robberies. I've a decent car with a nice new set of alloys on it. I reckon it's time to get a few more lock nuts for the wheels.

The Jonnys are living down a laneway next to Tony McCormacks house.
