sorry if a similar thread has been posted

i watched this when it was on tg4 years ago and have started rewatching it over the last few weeks; what a fukcing great show.

outstanding cast (jk simmons, harold perrineau je, adewale ad- eko from lost!) and undoubtedly one of the best shows ive seen on tv, rivals anything out there, past or present, imo.

for anyone who hasnt seen this show or isnt familiar with it, check it out, you wont be disappointed

Pretty good prices on box sets of it at the moment as well.
One of my all-time favourite shows.

I got the boxset for my birthday and watched all 52 hours over a few weeks. I think I watched it too quickly as I was walking around calling everyone cocksuckers for a while afterwards.

    Great programme :D

Outstanding show. Some of the most f*cked up things I've ever seen on TV.

    Prag.

I think Oz is one of the most overrated shows of recent times.

I gave up after watching the first 3 seasons. I kept hoping it would improve but it never did.

Couldn't call it over-rated in the slightest.. it's got a cult following but it's still largely quite unknown.

Astounding performances from practically all the cast (Tergesen and Simmons in particular), damn fine writing, complex characters and there's very few characters with a heart of gold.

    Love it!

I'd have to say that Adebisi is one of the most compelling characters to watch in any tv series. As is Ryan O'Reilly.

Thats what I loved about it, so many interesting characters (bit like the Wire I guess) that have some depth and hold your interest. Tergesen was amazing. Cast has a huge amount of crossover with the Wire which is a good indication of quality.

great show. Watched it through start to finish a few years ago and loved damn near every bit of it. Feel it maybe lost it's way a bit in the final season but overall and excellent and envelope pushing show. have been meaning to sit down and watch it through again.

I thought that the first year culminating in the riot was fantastic.

Afterwards things got a little odd. There were great elements in there, but ever few weeks there'd be a ridiculous thread thrown in for god knows what reason(aging drugs, I'm looking at you).

Still, great show. But not quite classic.
