    The first country since 1970 (Burma went LHD, against the grain of its neighbours) to make the change and something that clearly is not popular or even much required bearing in mind Samoa is an island. The reason put forward by the government seem rather specious claiming it'll encourage the use of smaller more efficent cars and the end of Yankee barges, after all that could be fixed by limiting the engine capacity or introducing fuel efficency laws.

    Considering they are largely part of the Aus-NZ, Pacific islands it makes sense.
    Instead of having to import big old unreliable american tanks they can get cheap Jap imports from Japan/NZ/Australia.
