here's the situation, got into my course in galway moving down and renting a house with, well i guess you could call friends. another very similar course i applied for which is in the north that i didn't think ill get offered a place, well i got offered a place. The course in the north actually suits me better is closer to home and would actually save me alot of money over the year compared to living in galway.

But then I find out the one of my best friends is going to the college up north. I'm moving down with people i just about know and theres one that i now i just wont get on with. Im so tempted to cancel going to nuig and accept the the other course, also i want the full college experience and probaly wont get that by not living in student residencies in galway. but we've got a house sorted in galway, and if drop out now i leave them in the **** regarding rent etc, and cant do that.

I was even thinking of just going to galway for 1st year then going to the other college next year but i hear if i do that i'll lose the grant and that is not an option.

I just feel i'll enjoy myself so much better with the other option. Oh why cant things be simple?

Any suggestions on what is should do would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Your going to college for the education, if the north is the one you want fcuk nuig and let the lads rent it out to someone else.

Don't let the fact that you don't know people starting off influence you. Pick the course you want to do and let the rest sort itself out. You'll meet new people anyways.

I agree. If you make a logical informed decision to stay they should understand. Also I'd be very cautious about spending money unnecessarily (insert generic rant about the times), especially when you're a student. The education you get is really the most important part of the college experience and if you really want you will always have plenty of chances to visit Galway at weekends and during time off. That's my opinion anyway.

Good luck in your decision :)
