    Hi

I am looking for the Engineers code for my alarm installed in 1994, it is

a Scoptronic Vista 5, I was originally given it by my installer but I have

misplaced it , I think there was an 86 in the group

I need to change the battery

    Thanks

86 would not be part of the default code which is 1234.
This would have been a code set by the installation company or the individual installer.
You could try defaulting the panel as follows.
Remove the mains power & disconnect the battery.
Remove the factory link marked LK1
Power up the panel & enter 04567
If the system disarms then its defaulted & you can enter default engineer code 01234.

Defaulting the panel will mean that you will need to reprogramme all the settings and you'll need the manual for that.
For a simple battery change just switch off the mains supply, open panel, and replace the battery. The alarm may go off and I would wear a pair of ear plugs just in case the bell is in the panel
