Very confused about grants

Hi, just wondering is it too late to apply for a college grant? I didn't even think I was going to college this year until about 8 days ago and I've read the closing date for grant applications is the 31st of August which seems like a ridiculous space of time.

Also a few people told me there are loads of different grants, one person even said that there's one for different things like food, clothing, books etc. But when I look on studentfinance.ie it seems the only grant I can find is a maintenance grant. All the different grants and websites confuse me big time.

I'm 17, doing Computer Applications in DCU, live around the corner and the family income is rather low. Do I have any hope at this late stage and if so does anyone know what forms to get and where etc.

    Thanks. :pac:

Yeh you have hope, just get crackin' on it now.

I think you'd apply to City of Dublin VEC, but I'm not sure.

You could contact the Ballymun Partnership (includes Whitehall and Santry too) They've got education advisors there and will also tell you what and if other financial help you'd get.
