    Hi all..

Many have suggested to me about setting up a Facebook page for business.

I first felt that it was not really me but have warmed to the fact that by being creative it could work very well.. I run a business for products and services to home users.

I would love to hear peoples experiences of using Facebook to promote their businesses.. Pros and cons (if any)

    Thanks in advance!! ;)

I only have limited experience but so far I think its good..I'm in the process of setting up a business and have been able to raise awareness of the company and get some pre-orders via facebook...it gives you a medium to get in touch with potential customers and facebook allows to target specific demographics with its ads..I'm yet to try the ads but think it could be quite useful...There is another thread somewhere about facebook/social media with lots of useful info on it..

dont have facebook pages set up, but do use the adwords style advertising they offer. I have found this effective across a range of businesses in terms of online traffic.

Can you explain how this works please?

Thanks all for the info.. Trying to build a picture of how to use it well from the start.. Can you change the background with logos etc?

    Hi there,

I use bebo and facebook at the moment. To be honest I think the bebo page is easier to operate and find. I'm stuck in kids entertainment and have recieved a significant number of calls from the bebo page than the facebook page. PM and I can foward you on the links.

Don't set it up as a standard page, but use it as a fan/group and just add add add!!

    It's very handy!

Thanks Mr Biz. There's lots of (good) qualative opinion around but keep driving to relevant quantative data wherever you can get it. It's this data that will allow you to make the right decisions on time-and any spend investments required
