TBH, it looks like a well minded car, but how pictures are taken can do alot for a car. If it lives up to the pictures, that's not a bad car at all for €8,500. I thnk they're a cracker of a car, and the manual for me would be a plus.

I think you're onto a winner if all checks out.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

So you've got him down to €8.5k? Seems like a pretty good deal to me. As long as you understand that you won't easily sell it again with the manual box and the high miles.

Lovely colour and spec, with a good service history very appealing buy. Just dig to find has the engine had any turbo work.

Nice looking car but I'd say 6.5k euros is about the go of it nowadays, high miles, big road tax and nearly seven years old now. You'd almost get the newer model, a 2004, for this money.

But which would you want, the last of the E39's, and a cherished one at that, or the first of the E60's. I know which I would take.

I meant to add that, I'd much prefer the above to the newer shape. Much nicer vehicle IMO.

Well I have an E39 M5 and don't think i'll ever part with it but it sits in a heated garage and is rarely used nowadays but I think if I was to use the car every day I'd probably buy an E60, there's nothing wrong with them, in fact i'd say they've got the edge on handling over the E39.

We can only see the pics, but the car looks in very good condition. I doubt you could buy a late E39 530d in great condition for 6.5k atm

There's a lot of them around alright Unkle, a lot of them are ending up as taxi's now as a result of the cost of road tax.:(

Funny you say that. There is a gorgeous M sport 530d taxi going around Limerick atm. IIRC it's grey and it's a fantastic looking car. I'm sure anyone from Limerick will have seen it.

I can see that happening alright! The only way to afford keeping a big engined car on the road for some people is to use it as a taxi. Do 1000 miles and pay €1600 tax, do 100000 miles as a taxi and pay €40 tax :(

Maybe I should start the world's first Porsche 928 taxi :D
