One of those films which has been on my radar for awhile. The story is about Denzel Washington's character Eli traversing a desolate post apocalyptic America in order to protect a book which contains the secrets to saving mankind.

The cast is every impressive with Ray Stevenson, Malcolm McDowell, Gary Oldman and even Tom Waits featuring.

I have high hopes for this one as the Hughe's brothers have impressed me in the past and so far things are looking very good for this.

I'll get my post-apocalyptic fill when The Road comes out

Yeah that looks decent but I'm more interested in The Road. I want to see a post apocalyptic movie with no sci-fi/fantasy elements for once.

Post-apocalyptic movies seem to be in vogue at the moment - Book of Eli, 2012, The Road all heading our way soon.

Surely any movie set in a post-apocalyptic world is fantasy?

Hmm yeah sure for pedantry sake.

I'll expand on what I said before.
I'm sure if there was a nuclear war that some people would possibly survive for a short amount of time. I think The Road is a reasonable representation of that. For once I'd like to see no monsters/zombies/robots/martial arts using lone wanderers who possess magical powers and must deliver a magic item to save the world blah blah blah/general ridiculousness . I would've thought that was reasonably clear.
