I intercepted one of the above on its way to a skip, and it appears to be working, but I'll need to buy a Sun keyboard and mouse for it (about €20 on ebay).

Is it worth keeping? Anything I could use it for? There's a Solaris install CD with it.

    Of course!
If not, you could always arrage a deal ;)

Sun equipment is very nice to work with.
    Don't chuck the thing out:pac:

You may have features such as a real video
framebuffer upon boot. Very cool platform.

There are lots of benefits of using a non x86
based machine. A SPARC box is on my wishlist.

You could put Open/NetBSD on the thing to
learn more about Unix, and build a router/firewall
or a server with the thing.

Sweet jebus...I just looked at your sig.

I've been trying to get one of those keyboards for years!

I have a small stash of old Dell keyboards from the mid-90's that are build like tanks and were very 'M-series' in feel.

The keyboard I got with the HP I bought this year feels like mush, as do all modern keyboards.

    Fantastic...thank you!

    No Problem.

Yep, those dell keyboards have really nice ALPS key switches.
I have a 'Unicomp' and a 1989 Model M and there is barely any difference.

Better way to spend than on some crappy 'gamer' board:

I don't have a dell clicky, but they are very high quality boards.
Some people prefer them to the M, because of the slightly lower
resistance of each key press. Same clicky action though.

You won't see these types of boards too often with everything being
a cheap commodity these days. Too bad they aren't marketed very well.

Ebay is great for finding these boards. Look for a dude named 'ncbound'.
Good thing clicky boards practically last forever:)
