    Hi,

I'm staying in Larkfield from sept 20th on, and was just wondering:

-Is there bowls, plates and glasses etc provided in the kitchens?

-Is it worth the hassle bringing up a bike? It would be handy going to training etc but is there anywhere safe to put it? Like I could hardly keep it in the apartment:confused:

    Thanks in advance

I kept my bike on campus for years without any problem. It might be safer in one of the general bike areas rather than near Larkfield so it's not the target of drunken schenanigans.

it says in the frequently asked questions that your not provided with much, So I have a box packed with all my plates, cutlery, cups, pots, bowls, tea towels...ect...
Would have been usefull If I had some way of contacting my roommate beforehand though, we'll either have two lots of everything, or she's gonna be using all my things..

Yeah you have to bring all your own stuff.

Your roommate will do the same, and you'll both probably put your own stuff in different cupboards then.

As for the bike, there is a bikerack right in the centre of larkfield but i presume it's not insured and it's use at your own risk. Personally i wouldn't.

So is there any way to find out who you'll be staying with (I got a single but I'm pretty sure that involves sharing a kitchen and bathroom) or do you just find out when you move up there?

Yeah there is nothing provided Im afraid..

Its kinda better to have ur own anyways as u will have ur own press and everythng!!

In relation to above comment..I assume its Larky ur talking? It will just be one other person..and yeah u guys will both share kitchen and bathroom but ur room is private..:D

    Bottom floor is dudes
    Middle floor girls..
    Top mixed..

U should know by ur room number which ul be..ie VG04 will be ground..v104 will be middle and V204 top..blah blah blah..the rest is a suprise lol!!

As with the whole of campus, G is ground floor, 1 is first floor, 2 is second etc etc.
    So V204, splits up as V - Larkfield, 2 - 2nd floor, 04, room 04.
Also! HG21 is not room 21 in the Henry Grattan Building, H is the nursing building, G is the ground floor of said building.

Larkfield is two people with their own bedrooms sharing a kitchen and bathroom, both of which are -tiny-, but bearable. As someone said elsewhere on this forum, if you feel you should have a bigger bedroom than the one in larkfield, you're spoiled.
Larkfield as also been accurately described as a big house. It is. And a great year.
Honestly, it IS is a dump, but it was excellent fun, the best nights were with friends in larkfield.

Living in a kip doesn't bother me as long as it's a fun kip to be honest
