Hi all i just bought myself a pair of Sidi shoes and look Keo 10 pedals so any advice on how to get used to them before hitting the road. I know i will probably fall over at the beginning but i am looking for some tips on how to get used to them.

Keep the pedal clip locks fairly loose until you're more comfortable. And for your first spins pick a quiet route or just tootle round an industrial estate or something practising stopping and starting. When you're used to them, you'll wonder how you ever coped without them :)

Yeh and don't install them the day before a Sportive! (As I did and managed to fall twice in front of a lot of experienced riders :o)

When you fall over make sure you get up and cycle away as if nothing happened or try find a pot hole or manhole cover to blame.

    Cycle slowly on short grass?

Keep repeating something like "clipped in, clipped in" to yourself!

Otherwise get up, frown, examine the chain and look exasperated - make a serious attempt to make it look like a mechanical issue.

be vigilant, i was cycling clipless for about two months before the inevitable happened. as said above though, it couldnt possibly have been my fault... loose stones or skipping chain or some such...

Just remember after a long cycle to clip out...its very easy to forget....when I first started I had to keep repeating in my head, "remember to clip out, remember to clip out, remember to clip out" a few minutes before I stopped.
