Seen this in the Times this morning, good for all you weekday golfers...

Seems like a good idea, wish there was more competitions like this around… €60 to get out on Royal Dublin, wish they had at least one qualifying round on a weekend, can never get off work otherwise!

Yeah, I actually like the look of that.

I'd like the look of it more if it was on a weekend. Just a little tool to try to get some much needed greenfees, they are struggling very badly at the moment.

Could Boards put a few 3 balls together?

A Friday afternoon tee time possibly? My holidays for the year are pretty low though!

A golf club in North County Dublin was previously looking into selling its trees in a bid to raise some cash. Not sure if they ever did, but i heard only today that the place is likely to close at year end anyway.

Turvey, and Graeme, you've just put me off my (late) lunch.

tbh I reckoned as much, you know for the criticism it gets I think it is a grand wee course, granted I played on a lovely day (we had one in June!). What struck me was that we played on a Saturday afternoon and we were the only ones on the course and as I said it was a lovely day. Shame never like seeing a golf course close….

Ladies & Gents, dont know where you are getting your information from, but maybe are very wrong about Turvey.
The hotel was always Turveys money pit, if you go out to the club you will see that the hotel is now leased out to new management group, the new management have, revamped all the hotel bedrooms, brought in new caters (the food is pretty good). The new managemen group are also opening a new golf shop on the premises. It would seem very strange that a new management group would invest all that time and money into a venture that was to close at the end of the year.

Go out this Saturday and see how busy it is, you will do well to get a game.

    Guys, enough with the rumours...
Speaking of Rumours, the poster with this username has an awful lot in common with the poster TheGolfeer who had a love affair with Turvey too.
If everything is so swimmingly in Turvey we can expect to see a paid-for advertisement on this site shortly because that is how this site works.. you want to advertise, you pay for it.
    Meanwhile, back on topic everyone...
