Reapplying with a company that I left without giving notice

When I was 17/18 I worked for a company in Dublin. I being a naive youngster and with the celtic tiger booming, I just f-ed off one week, didn't contact them, and found a different job. 6 years later, I wouldnt mind going back, basically as I'm desperate. I see the error of my ways. Any chance they might take me back or would I just embarrass myself by applying?

I've done it.
I didn't mention it in my interview and they didn't ask. And I had walked out the previous time.

On another note I sent my CV to my current job and got rejected, fair enough.
3 weeks later I applied through a recruitment agent and got the very same job

Worst case, you get a standard letter saying thanks, but no thanks. If you can get over that embarrassment, then you've not much to lose.

They probably won't remember you. He they say anything just say "are you sure that wasn't my brother?"

Thanks for the advice. I decided to go for honesty. Probably won't work. I assume they'd just find out once they put my PPS number into their system, if I didn't.

walked out?

I've had jobs where I've had to give like 3 days notice because another employer came along with 2x the hours (and thus 2x the pay) take it or leave it, but I'd explain that to my current boss to buy me some understanding.

Young, silly wans do it all the time. Well they did, before the economy took a nose-dive.

I'm met a few who just didn't show up after lunch one day, and even one temp who walked out at morning tea time!

Most of us get wiser as we get older thought.
