Hi, New To This, But I'm Looking To Buy a 98 Fiesta, But have been told, the guy road it off for insurance money or something? theres a dent on the bootlid, which doesn't look to bad, a panel beater would fix in a jiffy, but i was wondering, if i bought it, can it be put back on the road? and what do i need to do to put it back?
i heard the insurance company takes the logbook?
it it a hard process? and does it cost?

Good God................At the mere suggestion of stuff like this on a cheap small car, just walk away - even if its not true.

There's thousands of cheap small cars out there to be bought with good history behind them.

It may have cost more to fix that dent then the car was worth. So it's an economic write off. Nothing to stop it from being fixed though.

If the owner gets paid from the insurance company, the insurance company will own the car though, and it won't be his to sell.

Personally I would buy a 2000 fiesta, much more advance than the 1998 and have less trouble with leaks.

If theres no log book ..walk away...the car might have been "written off" by the insurance company but he may have bought it back...as in, accepted an offer minus the value of the car ,say 100euro....
