    Hi,
What do you think of the groove sharpeners that are on www.backspintool.com and on ebay.ie?
They look good but can anyone give me some advise.

Sorry for the delay responding -

Check out our video on how to use a Golf Regrooving Tool aka Groove Sharpener: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kF4hKjqpY90

The GroovePro Groove Sharpener sharpens your clubs so your beaten up grooves bite the ball again and help you regain your backspin and improve your golf game.

Free post and packaging to Ireland and UK for groovers on GroovePro.net (we're based in Dublin, Ireland).

There are a no. of golf groove sharpeners on the market but beware of ones with replaceable blades or which are too small to handle (and very sore on hands while grooving clubs).

    Any q's let me know.

    thanks,
    Paul.

Just bought one from GroovePro there. Had one a while back but lost it. Handy yoke. The tape either side is a good idea. I always go over the edge & scrape the club.

Take a look at Rule 5 here, Colm, and see what you think. http://reviews.ebay.com/Buying-Classic-Ping-Irons_W0QQugidZ10000000000003314

Atlantic 1: That's a useful document but the point on groove sharpening is different to what GroovePro.net Regroover does.

GroovePro's golf club regrooving tool allows you to reclaim the original design and keep your clubs grooves to the legal depth and width (0.020” (depth) x 0.035(width) at the club’s surface). See R&A’s 2010 rules. (document: ‘Groove Measurement Procedure Outline.pdf’.at: http://www.randa.org/rules/groovetest/explained)
Atlantic 1: Rule 5 on your link advises against resharpening with machine tool and also where resharpening involves grooves being 're cut'.

The Regroover is a hand tool and does not re cut grooves but helps reclaim the original design thereby helping you regain your backspin!

    I hope this helps.

The groover is made from A2 Ultra heat treated steel )measuring 61 on the rockwell hardness scale!)

Unlike other products on the market you won't need to resharpen it or replace parts.

    HI Daithio9

Sorry about the typo. Should have read 'Despatched from Dublin, Ireland so delivery within Ireland takes 2 working days approx from time of ordering (no post on Sat/Sun).'

I hope this clears up this matter!

I'm a little skeptical but I've ordered one and I'll provide a full report on how I get on with it on boards next week.

Good stuff. I'm in interested in getting one myself instead of forking out for a new wedge.

Ive owned one & they do what they are made to do. Only annoying thing is when you go past the groove & scrape the face of the club. Taping the edges like the site video solves this problem.
