    Hi!

I've been searching the internet (and this forum, so apologies if this has come up before :pac:) high and low and can't, for the life of me, find any useful information on the process of claiming back VAT on business(registered for VAT) purchases? Would anyone know what the process is?

    Thank for any info :D

If you are registered for VAT, are you charging VAT on your sales? Most business collect more VAT than they pay, and are required to pay the net over to the Revenue. It's normally only when you are in a start-up (and are incurring start up costs before you have much income), or making zero-rated supplies where you would expect to be getting a refund.

Either way, you should be making regular VAT returns (and if you are registered, the Revenue should be sending them out to you for completion) - when completed you should be able to establish whether you are due to receive any net refund or make a payment. If you are due something back, the filing of the Return should trigger the repayment
