I am looking into getting my teeth whitened.

Dont want to go the home kit route, want to go to a professional

Going for a check up at my dentist this week, so after that i will scedule the whitening.

As i have never done this before, can somebody with any experiance please give me an recommendation as to where to go in Dublin to have it done?

Google gave me a few places in Dublin

so far i am looking at **mod edit no names**

    These are my recommendations:

Get the take home kit. It has a more gradual and longer lasting change than the in chair treatments. Every study published on this subject more or less agrees with this.

You say you want to go to a professional, then don't go to **no names allowed**. You are not guaranteed to see a dentist, who is the only person who should be prescribing whitening treatments under Irish and EU law.

Their website says they use laser whitening. They do not (it also states on their website they use a halogen bulb).

They say that their lamps emit no heat, but heat is the only way that the reaction is accelerated. The blue light does very little. Again, there is consensus amongst most whitening experts on this.

So in conclusion, get a take home kit properly made by a dentist.

i went to ***no names allowed**. Paid 235 plus got free top-up worth 70 euro's. Really worth it, and i'd recommend them any day. In and out in about an hour. No bother getting it done but my teeth were a little sensitive for the rest of the day but bearable. A real confidence booster.

Dont reccomend in office bleaching except to augment at home night guard vital bleaching. I do tons of bleaching in my practice and can say that the at home (made by a dentist now, not bought on ebay!) bleaching has the best long term results.

In office bleaching is a little whitening and a lot of dehydration.

I used to use britesmile system, i stopped because i could not predict what colour teeth would be when light was switched off, or even if they would whiten at all. The whitening used to wear off after approx 6 months, so i used to have to give the patients a take home kit anyway. Most importantly from an economic point of view, if the patient wanted a "top up" after 6 months with britesmile, they had to sit in my chair for 1-2 hours, hence a bill was necessary, whereas top up at home is free as you already have the kit

I got the home kit from ***no names alowed*** i was told it will take two weeks, so i am using it now and the result slowly showing. The stuff in ***no names alowed*** are very friendly and helpful, i would suggest you pop in and ask more about it as they always willing to help.

tigar thanks for resurrecting this old thread, the new forum rules do not allow names of dentists or practices, I know the crowd you are shilling for will be happy because you have infact now removed several nice google links, pricing and information from this thread to that clinic....nice job.
