Which of these tyres to choose?

    Hi,

I will need a complete new set of tyres within the next few days. I do mainly motorway driving and have narrowed it down to the following 3:

Dunlop Fast Response (£67 per tyre)
    Pirelli P6000 (£70 per tyre)
    Michelin Primacy (£90 per tyre)

My main concerns are durability and roadnoise. i don't want to change my tyres every few months, as I am doing a lot of miles.

Which one would you recommend? I had the Dunlop on my last car, and they were on for almost 30K miles when I sol it on, and still had some miles to go. So right now I would be inclined to go with them again.

    Regards,
    DubDani

Have had P6000's on 2 cars and to be honest they were quite noisy on both

I like Pirelli tyres usually, but the P6000's are really at their budget end and aren't special. Michelin are usually hard compound, and the grip goes after a certain point while there still is tread left. They're usually more expensive than other brands for no real reason. I'd probably go with the Dunlops.

If your Motorway driving takes you up north, I would go to the tyre place at Newry ( I have forgotten the name but is beside the BP garage on the Newry side the roundabout at the north of the Newry bypass). I was quoted 880 (without VAT) euro for the cheapest low quality tyres in Dublin, and got the 4 tyres there for £330 fitted!

I would check out what tyres they have there before plumping for anything in the ROI!
