    Just a quick question:

I have a car that's taxed until April '10 but i might break it soon for parts. Is it possible to get a refund of the remaining road tax on this if the car is officially declared as being dismantled?

    thanks

You'll need an end of life certificate from a licensed car dismantler. Your refund will start from the month after the car is destroyed.

just to add to the above.....you need to have at least 3months tax left on the car.

+1 on this. Found it out recently when my car was written off. I was just inside the 3 month limit - so couldn't claim back the €150 quid left on the tax disc.
