Looking to buy van for 6K or less

Hi , basically looking to buy a van for 6K or less. Will be used for lugging my surfboards around/occasionally sleeping in the back.
Have been offered a 1.9 Diesel Citroen Berlingo that is 2 years old, <25000 mileage, for 6K, any feedback on this?
Would ideally like something with standing room in the back (for getting changed in the bitter winter cold), but this is not essential. My mate has a Hi-Ace he got for 6K which has been serving him well.
    Any tips? Where to look?

A berlingo wouldnt be any good for sleeping in. Too little room. It also wouldnt meet your criteria for 'standing room'.

    Here's a Hi-ace, with a high roof, for 3,500 on gumtree - http://www.gumtree.ie/dublin/74/44093574.html

    And a camper van for 5,500 http://www.gumtree.ie/dublin/01/33479401.html

    Another camper for 3000 http://www.gumtree.ie/dublin/17/44207217.html

    An Iveco daily for 3000 - http://www.gumtree.ie/dublin/01/43680201.html

Any van would suit your needs by the looks of it, bar Berlingo's, Kangoo's etc.

I've an 05 transit that thanks to the recession is no longer of use to me. Its a low roof, short wheel base. you can stand up in the back, well you might have to bend your back a bit, and there is plenty of room to throw a mattress into it...Very comfortable to drive and if your not driving the hell out of its good on diesel. You can have a look at it if you want, well within your budget, 5000 open to offers..I'm in the northeast...
