    Hi,
First, had a thought, I've decent enough kit, Ultegra and mavic ksyrium sl's on the bike, so was thinking instead of a new bike, try and pick up a decent new or 2nd hand frame and build it up that way. So instead of spending a couple of grand i don't have on something new, spend a few hundred on a decent frame and move across, Saw a nice Specialized frame for £400 online so that gave me the idea. Any thoughts thanks positive or negative?

Second was on a similar theme, anyone build up a city bike for around town, looks like it just came off a scrap heap, but put decent bits where needed, hubs changers etc?

The first is pretty much what i did..got a ti frame and built it up. You will get a better 'bike' for less money but make sure you like the frame and not just choose one thats available. With good wheels and group you are already saving over 1000e

Buying bikes component by component is definitely a good way to fool yourself that you're not spending too much on your bike.

Which Spesh frameset was it? Saw one with Boras in Phoenix Park a week or so ago, and it looked wonderful, much prettier than pics I've seen on the www.

It was a Roubaix S-Works on the cycling weekly classifieds. Got me thinking what else is out there
