Looking to change over to 02 from Meteor.

Seems the 175 package looks the best for me on the pay monthly.

How good is the bluetooth on it, i'll be pairing it up with a Parrot handsfree kit?

    Opinions, experence, welcome.

    Hey VB,
I've had alot of phones over my lifetime, and I have to say it's one of the best phones Ive had. Bluetooth wise, it will only work with handsfree kits. Should have no problems there. Just be aware the batterylife is shocking, dependant on it's usage. There's loads of info here and lots of experts. Read through all the threads here.

Reception on any iphone i've ever had has been abysmal. And the 3gs was a step in the wrong direction in my opinion, its even worse.

If you spend a lot of time on the phone i'd invest in a nokia until Apple get their act together in the reception department. I dropped so many calls on an iphone its not even funny

Don't get me wrong they are amazing in almost every other department with the exception of battery life.
But remember the sole purpose of an iphone is the phone, if it cant do that right its not much use.

i have a 3gs, have no such problems at all. It officially unlocked and currently on meteor, no problems.

OP, how is o2 better value? for 25/month on meteor u get 300 anytime mins, free calls and txts to meteor, u can use jellysms to send 300 free webtxts, and then just buy the data add on for 10 quid, total bill 35 euro.

Data add on is scabby at 250mb, but im told thats all changing next month...

I cant explain that but i know from having both that the 3gs reception was worse than the 3g reception and that was very bad at the best of times.

Oh and Cojomo2, i could do with your help again here if you have a minute. ;)

I use a 3G with a Parrot CK3100 with no problems at all.

i'll agree with most posts here, the iPhone is an amazing phone, but yes the battery life is quite shocking on the thing, you can do little stuff to tweak it and get the bit extra out of it, others have claimed to have had up to 2 days out of it, but, i went to dublin for the u2 gig, and i struggled to get a day out of it lol
reception wise, its also poor at times depending on where you are, i cant get a signal at the locker room at work, likewise when i go to my uncles house is pretty low, and i have to go outside to get a signal, but once you get used to these, its an amazing phone.

im on the iPhone 175 package, my first bill was 47 euro, great i said, next month it went up, and this months bill is touching towards 90 euro :S

so, i added the extra texts bundle 300 extra texts for 16 euro so hopefull next months will be bit better, as i text waaaaaaaaay to much

As an actual phone for the very basic stuff like talking, reception, and battery life. Its a step backwards. A big step I might add.

Certain things about the phone are a step forward. (Hard to explain) The. way it works contacts for one.

The Battery is very hard to get used to. I get so paranoid about getting caught out. You will most likely need a second charger.

As an over all device its just Wow. I cant praise it enough.

If your only on a 175 min package, I think you will love it.

People who talk alot, need for business etc. I would not recommend it at all I'd say get an iPod Touch.

I have to say the reception is better on it then when I had my E65 and Xperia. Rarely have had any issues

The sole purpose? Wonder what all this other icons are for then...

Ironically if you only used the iPhone as a phone the battery would last you days.

I find the reception on mine is great and have never experienced any dropped calls. It's an amasing device and I use it for so many different things. I travel quite a lot from UK to Dublin so I could be in the departure lounge playing Bejeweled or surfing the net. Then when I get on the plane I stick in my ear phones and listen to some music.

Then when I'm driving I use Navigon for my GPS (never had any issues with dropped GPS signal etc with this), might pipe through my music through the bluetooth on my car stereo. When I have 5 minutes in work I'll look up Sky News and check out what my mates are doing on Facebook, check my hotmail and gmail accounts. The list is endless.

Sure the net wirelessly if there's any free ones about the place. Mine is jailbroken and have made Skype calls over the 3G network. Seems fairly reasonable for what it is.

Battery life is the only thing I can think of that's a bit crap, but I have a charger in the car, USB cable in work and one at home. If I'm away I'll just bring a charger and stick in a wall some place. I don't find it much of an issue to be fair.

The GUI is quite frankly amasing. I couldn't go back to something like a Nokia or Sony Ericsson.

What do I mostly use mine for ? 30% calls and texts, 30% surfing, reading mails etc, 10% music, 10% GPS, 20% gaming and other stuff.

    Just my thoughts.
