    Hi everyone,

Figured I'd start looking for feedback for Radio Week early!

Does anyone have any ideas for radio week ; any topics you think should be covered, any particular style/s of show you'd like to see?

If you'd like to be involved, that's no problem.
Post here, or even send me a PM and I'll get details to you.

On that note, I'd like to point out that anyone and everyone is welcome to join in on the fun. Doesn't matter if you're a first year or a fourth year or what course you're in. You can help with research, present your own show, help produce posters for advertising ... anything!

I'd advise anyone to get involved ... the parties at the end of the week are deadly!

    :D

I've always wondered - How many people listen to it during the week?

    No idea, actually!
I'd like to say hundreds of thousands, but the reality is probably closer to about six...
    :pac:

I should ask for figures... Might be a while getting that! Still haven't got the copy of my show I did in first year!

Is it a piss take? Yes, the college pay thousands of euro to get a licence to have a laugh ;)

Basically, it's set up like a proper radio station. It broadcasts from 12-9 pm every day for a week.

There are various different shows ; The OB (outside broadcast) in the cateen, Afternoon Vibes, Drive Time, then one-hour specials ie. rock music, best of the 80's, best of unsigned bands, favourite songs from the movies etc etc.

No I didn't mean it that way, I meant is it serious or lighthearted shows. I would be interested in doing either. Whatever show is going.

Anyone's free to do whatever show they'd like, pretty much.

I want to do The OB in the canteen this year, I think.
I'm thinking an all-female panel, like TV3's Midday would work really well.

Specialist shows are usually good for newbies, to get a taste of what presenting is like :)

It's usually on during Freshers' Week and RAG week, to coincide with all the 'fun' events happening in and around the college.

Yup, you join the society and then you're free to get involved :D

    Love Doctor ... I like it! :D

The Radio Soc meeting is on tomorrow in the radio lab upstairs tomorrow at 12, if anyone's interested in going. Not sure what room number ... Third floor, somewhere! (or Second floor, if you consider the ground floor to be the first floor :P)

    Cool! :)

PM me your e-mail address and I'll get the station manager to forward you the schedule for the week and details about what slots are left! Evening ones are all that are left, I think ; 6-9 at night, for one hour or half-hour specials!
