I see an article on page 20 of this weeks journal - "Better to buy barley than bales" In it the writer makes reference to farmers in the midlands prepared to sell rolled barley treated with propionic acid for €125/t.

Does anybody know any of these farmers selling rolled barley or have any contact details for them?

    thanks.

The journal and people on here are all talking about cheap barley but so far nobody can give details of where exactly you can buy this cheap barley.

I haven't heard of anybody selling rolled barley at anything like that money, anyone I know is selling at €150/tonne delivered within 20 miles.

I've already posted in another thread that we are selling dried barley for €115, loaded in the purchasers lorry in our yard, rolled barley at roughly 20%MC treated with propcorn doesn't seem such a stretch at the price you quote under the same conditions, but remember that is a cash upfront price.

You would have to do your own sums on transport and storage costs.

If you want to PM me I'll get a few numbers for you.
