I only ever played the PC engine (the jap version, better looking and better name) in a shop in capel street. Had splatterhouse, new zealand story.

It was amazing technology at the time, never knew of anybody with one, even people into their games might not have heard of them.

The turboexpress was amazing, dunno how it was not talked about more

Did no one have a Turbo Grafx out here?

I had one growing up. It's still buried in an attic somewhere..

The Turbo express was cool because it was the only system that
used the same games as the full console (unlike the gameboy, etc,
that had their own line of games)

I had the CD ROM attachment as well.

It's a pity that it didn't make it out here becuase it had some of the
    best games. R-type was insane.

    What about the sega nomad?

Turbo GraphX was, at the time, one of those mythical consoles for me much like the neo geo I'd heard of its existence but never got to see one or play it. Have I missed out?

Yeah, that's right - the nomad used sega cartridges..

You've definitely missed out, briany - I think the TG 16 was an amazing
system. It had the most unique gameplay and awesome games that
tended to be way more difficult than the snes games on other systems.

The neo geo was cool as well but crazy expensive and had crazy slow-down.
