    Hi,

I was wondering if any of the ambulance services have the facility to take an ecg onsite and forward it to the receiving hospital dept?

    Cheers

The Lifepack 15 has that facility.

Most AS1 ambulances (999/112 calls) have an ECG difib on board like the lifepak 12 or 15.

We've had that facility for about seven years now. I trained on the ZOLL first and have now been using the LifePak 12 for a few years which has twelve lead telemetry using bluetooth technology so no need for hooking up a mobile phone and having to dial the number.

I heard from an unreliable source that the Lifepak 12s are been replaced by the Lifepak 15 or is it a case you can't buy the 12 anymore.

I think medtronic have started phasing out the 12. Parts etc still available but the new 15 has a lot more (and costs more!!!) including motion detection while travelling. Hear some Ambulance regions are purchasing them but as you said....unreliable and unconfirmed.

Nationally we were told that the Philip's MRX was the preferred machine by NAS senior management. We have them the facility is there to send the 12 lead via telemetery to the receiving hospital but most hospitals aren't set up for it.

The Lifepak 15 is indeed the replacement for the Lifepak 12 but the cost is huge.

FFS even in our area up to recently we were using the HeartStart 4000 which was obsolete 10yrs ago.
