Eircom email issues

Not sure if this is the right place for this, so please move if inappropriate.

Over the past week or two, Eircom webmail is extremely slow at delivering mail to my inbox (both through Thunderbird and via their browser webmail service). Today, if I send a mail to my @eircom.net account, it's taking ~4 hours to appear in my inbox. Emails sent to a gmail account are showing up almost instantly.

I haven't seen any other threads on this topic, nor have I seen any word from Eircom anywhere about it. I've been changing my registered mail address on various websites (boards, etc) over to my gmail account, but there are places from where I expect to receive mails where that isn't really an option, and it's very annoying to say the least.

Anyone else experiencing similar issues? Is there anything I can do to remedy this?

I was just about to put a new tread about it. Im having the same problem, it takes bloody ages to receive an email. I had a look around but i couldnt find any info regards the email issue. Its been like this for past two weeks and its annoying at this stage. Takes about 4-5 hour to receive email:confused:
I will contact eircom tommorow, more then likely theres issues with their email server or some spam filtering thing.

It's extremely annoying alright. Let's hope they do something to sort it out soon. Good luck with their tech-support, let us know how you get on.

If you have an Eircom account and you are trying to change over to gmail you can get Gmail to check your eircom account for you. Have a look at the POP settings in the Gmail options.
