Thought it may be good to have a thread solely for locating stores with Snow Leopard in stock.

Anyone know of any in Cork?

I would think the Spectra Photoshop would have it, ya know the place on the same side as HMV just down a little bit, its between HMV and the Gentlemans Quarters, they sell Macs in there so they should have it or else try Harvey Normans

I tried Spectra in Wilton Cork which is an Authorised Apple Seller and was told that as it was new they probably wont have it for a few weeks. Also asked them recently for a 2Gb SD card for my camera and they said the biggest they sell was 1Gb for just under €20. Told them that even Tesco next door have 2Gb cards for €7 and could get a 4Gb cheaper than their 1Gb. How are they still in business??

Went into 3G in Dundrum on Sunday to see if they had any, and was told that not only would it be at least a week before they got but that Apple were only letting they're online store sell it for it e29 and that all retail stores had to sell it for e79.

Wow, that's some impressive bulls**t. How about just saying "we won't have it until x" and leave it at that? - I hate morons in shops that come up with random crap like that .

Which store was that? Presume not Wilton?

I was referring to the Spectra store on Patrick street, Cork. ;)

I was told in 3G in Stephen's Green that they'd have it some time in September 'when the new Macs come in'.

Anyone know if PC World in Blanch or Liffey Valley have it? I was in there (Blanch) on Friday and was told they'd have it this week, but I can't get an answer when I ring them.

    Hey Lads,

Bang & Olufsen are now registered Apple stockists, they sell high end expensive high-fi tv's etc.. but now also Apple gear, got snow leopard there on monday there is a store on the quays just a bit up from oconnoll st, and one in donnybrook, because they are used to selling high end gear they have excellent customer service and have good suppliers apparently because they had a load of copies when I was in...

    Cheers,
    John

    for your convenience:

    Bang & Olufsen
    6 Bachelors Walk Dublin 1
    (01)8782700

    Bang & Olufsen
6 Main st Donnybrook Dublin 4

    (01)2602404

    :)

    haha :P

    :)

nah it's not that I've got a hard on for Bang & Olfusen, just as someone said earlier Spectra photo and 3G (which are the only other stockists I know of) have absolutely no idea how to deal with customers... over charge and never have any new products in!

like the aluminum macbook, when that was released, it took those shops about 3 months to get them in.

They have started to do that with most of their products there at AT Mac, not impressed! I used to be very happy to give them my business. Now I tend to wait until I'm in Limerick and get to CompuB

Anyone know where to get Snow Leopard today anywhere in the West of Ireland.
Galmac don't have it and the 3G shop in Galway don't have it.

They told me last Sunday that they'd be getting it in today. You've saved me a trip down there!

Galmac still didn't have it in stock , just thought of CompuB in Limerick about 3.00 pm and gave them a ring, parted with my credit card number, and the postman delivered it to me next morning.
    Top marks CompuB.

As John mentioned in #20 they have them in B&O on Bachelors Walk, although they won't have them in stock until Tuesday. It's €29 for a single user.

For what it's worth, I went into Dublin centre yesterday jonesin' for Snow Leopard, and Spectra Photo of Grafton Street is gone, and that was that, apart from a great conversation with Mac-fanatic Gordon in the Stephen's Green SC 3G store.

I wish I'd known about the Bang and Olufsson store on the quays. I've ordered from Apple now, should be with me between Tuesday and Thurday, although it's more a 'wanting' than 'having' for me, I intend to sit it out a little while to see what's broken and what works before I install...
