Just ordered one of these from Amazon.de (last one in stock I think :p )

Looks like a great featured player

    CNET review.

I'll do a review once it arrives and after I've had a go.

    *bump!*

Got this the other day from DHL, unboxing reveals the great looking player, manual, simple remote (only needs one AAA, included) Component cables (red white and yellow, no HDMI unfortunately!), and Nero MediaHome 4 Essentials software disc.

It had a two pin power cable for some reason, lucky I have an adapter (well I can't make toast now as I had a two pin powered toaster also from Germany, lol)
Connected it to the HDMI on my Philips 9 series

Interface is nice, not slow to startup or to navigate, and you have a choice of 4 skins.
Connection to my router (WPA, two rooms away) was a cinch, and I set up file sharing on Linux Mint and it picked up that with no problems! Navigating your files you have a choice of display views that changes the icon size like in Windows.
Streaming normal XviD or H.264 over from my PC works great, only larger quality files, .mkv 720p files for example start to stutter after a few seconds, Wall-E 4.4GB Blu ray rip was unwatchable after 10 seconds, but I didn't expect it to playback at all tbh, perhaps if my router was Wifi-N like the player it will!
HD stuff plays great off the USB drive fine anyway, just have to format mine to NTFS to get the larger files on. ;)

Disc playback is very speedy, only DVDs in the house at the moment but I hear the Bluray is quick too.

It has Youtube support and the interface is quite snappy too.
    Very happy so far! :)

I assume you meant composite? Sounds like a very functional player! Seems to have everything.

Sounds the business. I was going to get an Extremer or WDTV and a seperate blu ray player. But this seems to do it all in one neat unit.

Should go well with my 50PS3000 !

    Yep, composite, oops.

€280.79, aside from the website and their emails being in German (a little google translate figured out the "Order has been shipped" bit), I had no problems at all, the layout is the same as Amazons uk site so if you've ordered from that it's not too hard. You could always wait for it to be available on an English language site.
Didn't get charged with any import tax or anything either.

I was looking at the Dune players but I'd never heard of them before, and I was disappointed with my last network player from an unknown company.

Also I'll add that the remote powers on and off the player, not just from standby, last one I had you had to get up to turn power it on off.

Hows the player going? It looks absolutely awesome, MKV support + NTFS is perfect.

Any drawbacks or do you recommend it, hows the pic quality and upscaling of DVDs?

Everything loks great on my 37" Philips, 4.5GB mkv files play no problem, Monsters vs Aliens, Batman Begins, Children Of Men all look great. :)
LOTR on DVD looks good upscaled too, much better than on my old CRT of course!

Occasionally the wireless connection (my router is two rooms away) hangs a bit when streaming or trying to stream something but it's rare.

for people connecting straight through ethernet wont have the problem of stuttering while streaming..wireless n is most suited for streaming large files. Cant wait to get one of these , if its gonna be ages til its release over here i might have to go through amazon.de myself.

    *EDIT* http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=497527&view=detailed#ProductTabs

    289€ when their in stock..Perfect ;)
