    Hi looking at a bike with these fitted. Has anbody used them? Seems there is no lock out on them. Will it pogo up hills???

    Not at all, had these on a hardtail, a kona fire mountain and they done the job grand.

    It is a fire mountain they are on. I tryed adjusting them by hand in the shop but seemed to make no difference. Just a bit worried going up a hill on the road they will be too soft.

    The adjustment seems to have no effect but it is kinda detectable when your riding, i done a lot of road stuff with mine before buying a racer and found it fine, a friend of mine even done a few triathlons on it !.
    For the money ther're a great machine.

    Rockshox dart1 are a decent basic fork. They are nothing fancy, the Knob you turned on the fork is the rebound adjuster, its not really going to have much effect on the hardness of the fork.

    You will need to change the spring in the fork to achieve a stiffer front end, having said that I find them to be quite hard as they are quite crude compared to better more expensive forks.

    But they are as good as you will get on a e500 bike.
