Hey folks,I was just wondering if any of ye good people would have an advice for me.Basically I'm starting in FAS in a couple of weeks, doing a short course in Manual and Computerised Accounts with FETAC awards. It only runs for 9 weeks. In 2000 I done a different FAS course run by IATI,it was a 1 year course but I had to leave a month before the exams as I moved abroad so I couldnt complete and didnt sit any exams.

There is a 2 year Accounting Technician course starting nearby which Im interested in.Im unemployed so what i'm thinking is maybe doing the IATI course part-time(2 nights a week) and taking the FETAC course or the other option is go full time and apply for grants to help me.

Are FETAC awards worth anything in this day and age in the Finance industry or do you's reckon I should just try and do the IATI course full-time? Basically money is my only problem.(Isn't it everyone's!?)

I think an IATI qualification would be better if you hope to work in Finance.

It also means you will have exemptions from ACA and ACCA exams if wish to continue on. I think you may also have exemptions from CPA and CIMA but I am not sure.(I'm sure someone else here can tell you :) )
