Hi, has anyone rented a car in America who is under 25?

Seams like most companies charge an extra $20 - $40 fee if you are!

Looking at renting for a month so it'll add up!

    Any better options i'm missing?

I rented when I was about 21, no hassle and no extra charge as far as I can remember.

IIRC there are literally thousands of smaller rental companies in the cities, so don't go near Hertz or Avis, go to the small one and you'll get much better value and a better selection of cars.

I paid feck all, about $100 for four days I think for a nice 2 door coupe, rented in LA.This was 2001 though sadly:(

Yeah might try ringing some local ones for prices....

Enterprise wanted an extra $3300 for being under 25
