    Hi folks,

Lately I’ve had an itch on my guitar I have to scratch, and after attending Humberklog’s Airing Room a few times, I feel like starting a small outfit of like-minded musicians who would be interested putting a few tunes together for the greater good of mankind.

The plan for the moment is just to jam and have a good ol’ time. Down the line if we manage to hit the same chords at the same time on a regular basis we might think about gigs, but that’s not for now.

I’m pretty open as to what kind of music I want to play - I’d be interested in:
-Folksy/bluegrassy stuff (The Band, Crooked Still, Jim Croce or whatever you can come up with)
-Acoustic Pop/Rock (the Frames, dEUS, etc.)
-Anything fun to play. Messed-up time signatures welcome :D.
-Jigs and reels if you’re up for it.
-I’m not a big fan of blues, and not very good at it. But why not, in small doses.
Those are just a few ideas. I’m happy as long as it sounds good.

Now – about me. I don’t have a great voice, but I can sing in tune. I’m decent guitar player, but not amazing. Can play a bit by ear, but don’t expect any mind-expanding solos.
We can be very serious about the whole thing or just sit back and jam.

I’m in a flat in city centre, so depending on how many of us there are and how loud we’re going to be and all, we might be able to do that at my place. I have a couple of guitars, a (good) digital piano. Or we might look for a better place. We’ll see.

Pm me if interested. I’ll be travelling in the next few days, so will have limited access, but I WILL be following up shortly.

Oh yeah if it matters I'm 34, no pending court proceedings, and good basic social skills.

    Thanks!

Hey, I am learning the piano. I can play some stuff fairly well. I have very varied taste in music. I learn songs fairly well from tutorials online etc. I am also learning to read piano music, the scales and chords etc. I find it very hard to stay motivated playing in my room on my own, i'd love to jam with some others to have fun and get proper experience and motivation. If you'd be interested let me know and i'd love to come into town and give it a go and see how it went. Rob :)
