    Hi,
I am new to posting on here but do view the topics from time to time! They can be very informative! Just wondering is there many full time cyclists (racers) out there that are not professional and how do they fund themselves? I have heard of a few on the irish racing scene but have no idea how they keep themselves going financially! any one any ideas?

Dole, parents, winnings, working part-time. Some may get Irish Sports Council funding. Trust me they are not doing it for the money! Basic on a Portour team is probably like €40k a year & dogs have better lives than pro cyclists. Am surprised more dont test positive for recreationally drugs is such a crap/hard lifestyle.
