There is a payment of €52 made to Sky on 26 August listed on my bank statement. This is in addition to my normal monthly payment of €84.96 made two weeks previously. I can't call them from work but I've emailed them. Anyone know what this payment might be for?

That was the first thing that crossed my mind, but I'm sure I didn't.

    Have you multi room??
Have you got your box(s) connected to your phone line??
Sounds like to me they've billed you the full sub for the 2nd box.

No, don't have multiroom. Had a thunderstorm here a few days ago, unplugged the telephone line from the sky box and it's still out.

Sky replied to my email with a silly email about taking extra euros for the first payment or something because I'm a new customer. I've been a subscriber for about 5 years.

€84.95 is an unusual payment, you must watch a lot of tv to get value out of that?

Is that what sky costs now a days????

The €84 is for Sky World plus HD.

Sky say they have no record of the payment. It is there though, in black and white on my statement. Sent them a screenshot of the transaction. Strange.

rectify it and fill us in. i don't like mysterious sneaky debit. never credit is it - remarkable consistency in that regard w/ these things.

sky were using my credit card details for somebody elses subscription.
they will not refund. i have given up trying. they are [insert lots of rude words].

get in touch with your credit card company. you only have a short while to query transactions. ask them to do a chargeback. that is the only way you will get the money back.

Last year Sky took money out of my credit card, even though I don't have (and never have had) Sky! I simply rang the credit card company, got them to take it off my account and to query it with Sky, and never heard any more about it.

I reckon they just got the wrong credit card details, but shows that you should always check your bills.:)

heavy. no wonder few trust direct debit.. which is worse, your a/c prone to being mistakenly 'used for another subscription' or straight-up siphoning off of cash i.e. theft.. ultimately theres no difference, you need to treat it as such and retrieve it.

its unforgivable coming from sky they have so much money already. go out of their way with multiroom same-address security, why not customer detail security?
