    The Pannys are lovely units but very overpriced.

    There's a couple of lower spec models for slightly lesh cash.

    I think this is first Sat receiver with BluRay writer
    You can copy a recording from an HD channel as a bitstream, so it’s not re-encoded, and the copy will complete faster than real time. It takes about 39 minutes to copy 1hr 40mins of HD programming, or 40 per cent of running time. Re-encoding, but still in HD, is a real-time process.
    Experience with DVB-s suggests that directimage copies will give best quality, but least likelyhood of replay on anything else.

    Re-encoding is slower than real time and less quality, but should playback on other BluRay/DVDs (HD/SD)

    you cant record some hd programs though,
