Betting Spreadsheet

    Hi,

I've decided to make a return to the old sports betting scene and I'm looking for a little bit of advice. I've attached a spreadsheet that I created with a mate a good few years back. Now it's very much a work in progress so I'm looking for a few pointers as to how I can improve it. I'll be using Betfair mostly so the whole commission thing will be a bit of a pain. Also, typing everything in can be tedious! Is there any way I can do this?

I work off a sort of 'confidence factor' in which I rate my picks between 1 and 10. 1 = 0.5% and 10 = 5%. I'm also not sure if this is ideal so I'll be looking for some advice on this as well.

The other problem is that I lay as well as back. How can I incorporate this into the sheet?

    Thanks!

Okay, did anyone find the spreadsheet of any use at all then? :D

I can't see that spreadsheet that you've attached because i'm using my mobile at the mo. What exactly are you going to do? Do you just want to enter your profit/loss into a spreadsheet is it?

If so you can download all your bets that you've done on betfair as a spreadsheet, instead of you having to type them in all manually.

Will you be able to look at it later perhaps?

I'll have a look at it this evening

To be honest not many people are going to download a file from a user who has little history on the forum.

Your best bet is to use image shack to host your image and attach it to your post here that way everyone can view it and in turn make comment.

I don't see an issue with keeping a detailed record of bets by writing them in manually, it doesn't really take long and by writing them in manually they tend to remain in your mind.

Oops, didn't think the lack of posts would result in some people not downloading it! Still don't know why actually :D

Can't access imageshack at the moment I'm afraid, plus I'm not sure if that'd be much use as some formulas may have to be changed/added to the sheet.

    Thanks.

It looks well. Use whatever you are most comfortable with.

Finding the winners is the hard part though.

Maybe someone with boards experience would be kind enough to post it up as an image if possible for the rest of us to see.

Heh, there's a lot more to it than just that image! That's why I think it has to be viewed in full (not sure why some won't look at it?).

(not sure why some won't look at it?).

    Security reasons?

Fair enough (but can't you do virus scans?).

What do people make of the staking plan btw?

It looks quite good but as forky said just do what your comfortable with, personally I wouldn't go into as much detail, a basic profit/loss table would do me which I can download from betfair. All the best with it though ;)
