Just saw this on the EP forum
I WANT TO RIDE MY BICYCLE…DO YOU?

2wheels.ie, in association with Electric Picnic, want you to blaze a trail to Stradbally this year. For the first time in Picnic history, we are giving you the opportunity to cycle to the Picnic, without a doubt the easiest, cheapest way to get there. Let us carry your bags, dress you, feed you and ensure that you arrive at the festival relaxed and road-rage free. We’ve even enlisted the help of the lovely local An Garda Siochána to escort us through the traffic, leaving dozens of envious car passengers in our wake. If this sounds like your kind of thing why not contact 2wheels.ie to find out more.

That looks like a great idea and very reasonable.

Honestly, squeezing a bit of cycling into the picnic...I think I've seen it all now :)

Would it not mean minding the bike for the whole weekend though....

They take your bike back to dublin once you cycle it down apparently

Hmm, it sounds a bit strange, but it looks doable without tiring your self for the night... I'm tempted.

If you're not taking in part with this or going from else where, there's this: http://www.electricpicnic.ie/html/bicycle.html
Why not leave the car behind and cycle to Electric Picnic! Bike racks are now provided at Entrance Gate 1.

If intending to travel part of the distance by train please remember to call Irish Rail to check that the train you're taking can take bicycles. The enquiry number at Houston Station is Tel: 01 8366222.

Looks good and €25 seem very reasonable too.

Very good value indeed, given that the official bus ticket price from Dublin is 20 euro.

Advertise it as a sportive and a 1000 people might show up.

    I am seriously considering this.

80km is a long way though. Considering the only cycling I do at the moment is my 4km commute.

Would I manage it ok do ye reckon?

Should be ok, it's split into 4 20km stretches (about 1 hour each)

Maybe try doing some stints today or sometime before Friday.

To give you an idea of distance, Blackrock into the city centre is just over 7km.

Good call, might pop out to Bray and back or something similar.
Probably tomorrow though. Epicly tired today.
