Anyone who has been flicking back and forth between stations when the news is one may have spotted one story that RTE Radio 1 (dunno about 2fm)
has left off its headlines - that the the firebombing of a Garda speedcheck vehicle in Cork which could have claimed a life.

News Talk are leading with it, my local station, WLF-FM gave it a fairly prominent slot in the running order while the Radio One news room studiously ignores it.

    Curious.

This isn't curious. The event you describe happened in Cork and therefore of no interest to RTE Dublin! This seems to happen on a regular basis.

Someone threw something lit into the back of a speedcheck van and ran off. Even the Garda Press Office weren't giving it any push... I rang them and they were just kinda going "Meh, no arrested at the scene, pursuing various lines of enquiry, nobody injured, van is fine".
