I hope all the information i am about to give you is correct, but it is always advisable to pre plan your journey.

If coming from the Ballinasloe side on the N6, remember you do not go all the way into Athlone, you take exit 13, when you come up this turn off you take the first exit at the roundabout for Tuam, and the Athlone Springs is approx 800 yards down this road on your left, just after the new Nissan garage.

If coming from the Dublin side, your heading for the new M6 Motorway remember you do not take any turn offs into Athlone town, keep going all the way around Athlone and you will cross the Shannon, shortly after this you will take exit 13, up to the roundabout, and take a right for Tuam, your now crossing over the Motorway and up to the next roundabout, go straight on and the Athlone Springs is approx 800 yards down this road on your left, just after the new Nissan garage.

If u miss the turn at 13 you end up going 23km up a dual carraigeway not being able to turn off and then you have to go 23 back down . I missed it on the last visit. The distance is 46km Journey extra if u miss the turn  This could only happen in Ireland and probably only to me ..

I took exit 13 once and look at me now

there is a reason why hotels dont have a room 13 or a floor 13

Jeez guys the man is only trying to help, no need to take the piss. This is the exact reason why people don't bother being helpful, people don't appreciate it.

    lighten up.

We all appreciate the tremendous hard work paddy and Neil have put into this. It will be a great event.

I can just see him driving all the way to Ballinasloe turning around and driving all the way back, so funny.

in 1980, while driving from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, my co-driver messed up and we drove past the exit for Vegas, in them days there was only 1

the next exit was 50 miles and we were almost out of petrol

we were in a camper van, which guzzled juice, i think we were getting about 15 miles to the gallon

needless to say we drove the van into the ditch between the north / south 6 lane highways and up onto the opposite side of the motorway, it was so deep that we had to do it at some considerable speed

of course everything in the camper went all over the place as we crash landed on the other highway

some craic, annd i am positive if we were seen by a cop, we would have been screwed
