Engagement Ring NYC, How to pay?

    Hi Guys/Girls

Quick question here for anyone who bought an engagement ring in New York. We are travelling in a few weeks and will hopefully purchase over there!!
Just wondering what your experiences were as regarding paying for the ring, is it better to pay in cash or by CC. I am not too comfortable with walking around NYC with a wad of cash, but then I heard that a discount may apply if paid in cash.
For anyone that paid in cash, did you travel over with the cash or take it out over there?

    Any experiences/advise?

do you really want a discount when your purchase the ring with your OH ?

pay by credit card as its safer.

oh...and Congrats !! and enjoy NYC

Why wouldn't he ask for a discount? After all, she's still getting the same ring, and they'll probably share their finances when they're married anyway.

OP, I'd contact a few NY jewellers and see what their policy is on cash vs. CC. Guessing here, but you might be able to pay a deposit by cash and bank transfer the rest. Just be careful that it's all traceable in case of problems.
