Hi, not quite an issue, but something i am concerned about none the less..

Am booked in for a MRI today, and was just wondering what exactly this entails?

Also ladies, does it matter where in your cycle you are, am just asking because there was a related question on a form i have to fill in..

    Many thanks.

Nothing really to worry about. Its a very big machine, you lie on a bed which moves in and out of a large circular ring

You will have to remove EVERYTHING with any metal in it. It tends to be quite noisy and clunks a lot as it does its thing. Its also quite a confined space and you may be strapped in to ensure you remain perfectly still for the process.

Clearly you can't listen to your iPod while it works away

They are asking where in your cycle you are to rule out pregnancy, they ask same if they are doing an x-ray. Both would not be carried out if you were pregnant or if there was a possibility you were, they would either cancel or offer pregnancy test if necessary, and you would sign a disclaimer.

I've had 3 in my life. You pretty much just lie in a the machine and it humms and makes loud bangs. You are restrained in order to keep your body still. If you are claustrophobic then you might find in difficult but it is absolutely harmless.
