Heard a rumour that Pokerstars are sponsoring this.

wouldn't be a bit supprised as they seem to be turning a lot of there marketing attention to the Irish market. Wouldn't thought there was much chance of growth here, but they seem to be given something back to the irish players etc.

If they have online sats for this it could be massive, maybe 500 odd runners.

I think its pretty common knowledge that Stars have taken over the IPC and the associated Irish Poker Tour - nice bit of business by Fintan - well done. I also think the dates quoted above are a little incorrect - due to run from Thurs - Sun as with the previous 2 years with the Super Satellite on the Thursday night and it all kicking off on Friday proper.

They (Stars) have also taken over the GUKPT (apparently ;))

I think that deal fell through! (apparently ;))

There is definetly something in the water over there.

Looks like it will be poker stars as the sponsor.I know in other years some of the bigger pros were unable to play the IPC as they played poker stars caribbean adventure as this was also the first week in janurary. This may be the reason they moved it to this date.

    oh my god

    its clash clash clash

dec 18-22, 2009 is the same dates as a church fete and fundraiser for (born out of state but now known as galwegians) street urchins in cork
june 23-27th 2010, clashing with all sorts and this has been well documented, including my annual bath
sept 8th-12-2010 is the same dates as a back gammon and full contact chess game in wexford, not to mention the 3 legged sack race in ballymaloo or the uni-cycle championships in rosnaree on the friday and the "guess how many smarties in a jar" competition on the saturday morning, just before the annual nail biting championships, last year was very exciting as one of the competitors bit all the way to his knuckles and was disqualified for being over zealous

    give me strength

ok, look, i will forego the bath but i aint missin that nail biter thing

The dates I've been given are

    15-20 December Galway

    23-27 June Killarney

    8-12 September Dublin

I don't think there are any links yet.

Hope this helps and maybe someone else who is more in the know about the events can give you more details.

    Dani

Yes these are the dates that I have been given as well.

I believe these will be confirmed in the next week and then we will start the sats.

Myself and Connie will be running 3 super sats for each game. I'm sure there will also be others.
