new Sky installation query

I'm thinking of getting Sky installed - and have been using standard Lidl FTA box and UHF aerial up to now.

However I'm looking an all-in-one solution now - but I'm a bit unclear about how the Sky element would work:confused:

Is it possible to choose your DVB Tuner (eg a DVB PVR capable of getting the upcoming DVB-T Irish signals) and then simply slot in your Sky card? Or are you restricted to getting Sky equipment with a Sky installlation???

If this is possible could you guys recommend a machine?
    Thanks

Really depends on what you want to watch.
If you sign up to a basic subscription from Sky (€20.50) you will get the four Irish channels anyway.

    101 - RTE 1
    102 - RTE 2
    103 - TV3
    104 - TG4

So you won't have to wait for Irish DTT - when ever that happens :D

Many thanks for taking the time to reply appreciated. :)
    A Columbo if I may??:D

What I was really trying to establish is if I want Sky installed do I have to take the Sky box OR is there a tuner available which would be
    1) A PVR
    2) DVB all capable (ie DVB-t,c,s)
    3) and finally that you can stick a Sky card into

and hopefully cover all the bases - or is this asking the impossible

    Thanks again
