ask citizen information. it seems to be a top up on the grant. ya have to apply for it with all reciepts of books , travel , rent you used during year as far as i know you apply at the end of a year claiming money .
    Follow this link:
    http://www.studentfinance.ie/mp7945/millennium-partnership-fund/index.html
This explains about it a bit aswell

    good luck:)

I asked about this in my area on behalf of someone and they said..
"anyone who got it last year gets it again and if there is anything left over we'll forward it to the colleges"
Jeez, how strange, how are newcomers supposed to apply? I gather the fund countrywide is being restructured this year.

this is really stupid they should really stop doing nothing in careers classes and start teaching about the millenium funding and grants where to get them and how because newcomers have to dig every info up themselves like.

Same here - I made some enquiries today after noticing this thread and thought it was highly unfair.

Is there any other financial assistance like this for people struggling who aren't able to claim this?

The partnerships are still accepting new applications according to some of the websites i had a look at. Most of the libraries have information on whatever partnership is local to your area. Two of the Dublin partnerships, www.tallpart.com (Tallaght area) www.northsidepartnership.ie (Coolock area
