If anyone can point me toward a school where there is a vacancy in the history department then please do as I've exhausted all my avenues. I'm hoping to begin my teaching dip in Galway next week but my (two!) placements have fallen through in the past few days. If anyone can point me toward a school where there is a vacancy in the history department then please do as I've exhausted all my avenues.

Someone in NUIG told me this morning that they have a record number of trainee history teachers this year. Why is that? And does this mean there are others out there in the same boat?
